Safety Add-On

Fire Suppression Systems

Protect your facility and your investment. Compatible fire suppression systems available for all DT series models.

Combustible Dust Is a Real Hazard

Wood dust, plastic particulate, and solid surface material can accumulate to hazardous concentrations. OSHA and NFPA have clear requirements for facilities that handle combustible dust. A fire suppression system isn't just protection — in many cases it's a compliance requirement.

OSHA 1910.94
OSHA standards for dust collectors in manufacturing environments include requirements for fire and explosion protection. Non-compliance can result in significant fines and mandatory shutdowns.
NFPA 652 / 664
The National Fire Protection Association's combustible dust standards (NFPA 652 and 664 for wood processing) set requirements for dust hazard analysis and suppression system design.
Insurance Requirements
Many commercial property and liability insurers require documented fire suppression systems in facilities handling combustible materials. A properly installed system can also reduce premiums.

Automatic Detection and Suppression

The fire suppression system integrates directly with your DT series dust collector. When a thermal or spark sensor triggers, the system responds automatically — before a fire can spread to the rest of your facility.

1
Detection
Temperature and spark detection sensors monitor the air stream and collection chamber. The system is designed to detect ignition events at the earliest possible stage.
2
Automatic Activation
When a sensor triggers, the suppression system activates automatically — no manual intervention required. The dust collector shuts down simultaneously to prevent air from feeding the event.
3
Suppression
The suppression agent is discharged directly into the collection chamber, extinguishing the event before it can spread to ductwork or the surrounding facility.
4
Inspection and Reset
After an activation event, follow the standard inspection procedure. The system is designed for straightforward reset and return to service after a qualified review.
5
Return to Production
Minimal production downtime. The system is designed to isolate and address the event without requiring facility-wide shutdown or extended recovery time.
